Raphael Kirchner.

Figures on Turquoise Background, Raphael Kirchner, 1901.

These women look unsure, so therefore are entirely relateable.

Zoom.

I wish this 1957 Nash Metropolitan was mine. I'd most likely be wearing a scarf and my hair would be perfectly windswept.

Lions with Moustaches.

I find these lions entertaining... they remind me of little Hercule Poirots on display.

Window.

Turquoise Widow

I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason that I don't have a turquoise window, but at the moment, I can't think of what on earth that could be.

Original Blue.

I woke up today and thought, "There just aren't enough blogs about turquoise."

Actually, that's a lie. Let me tell you the real story...

I was in a funk, and found myself contemplating a new little outlet that was distracting away from some of the dramatized dreariness that is real and realized that there are things in this world that make me happy.  Ice cream.  My son. Pickles straight from the jar.  Good books on a rainy day. Democrats winning.  Any movie involving Maggie Smith.  Songs that are strum from the likes of Jack Johnson.  Big '80s hair.  Nonskinny jeans.  Blue skies, blueberries, blues music, my blue lamp, that one blue shirt that always looks good.

Voila... blue.  But not just any blue.  The most beautiful blue in the universe, that can conjur up the beautiful Mediterranean south of Spain, and the blue that makes me think of baby's eyes, my skin look good, my sadness lift, and smile when I see a splash of it along the road for no good reason.

That's why this blog started.  Enjoy.
